Fire safety

today I have created a DLO about community. For inquiry this term we have been writing fire safety messages to help out our community. As a class we were discussing how we can help our community with helpful messages. 

Fire Fighters Visit

As part of our inquiry this term we have been learning about people who help out the community. On Tuesday LS2 went to the Mt Wellington fire station. We learnt how they help us and what they do as being a fire fighter. We learnt that fire fighters just don't go to fire problems 

Maths Solving

Today me  are working on maths strategy.we recorded or work off of screencastiy we had to read out our equation and then we worked out the answer and it was fifty. we used our times tables and out pluses. we counted  how many hexagons there is and how many triangles and then we added 44 then we added 6 more then our answer was 50.

Learning to Motivate

 

We are learning about leadership as Year 7 will be our school leaders. Today we looked at what motivation means. We then worked collaboratively to create role plays to help us see what motivating others looks like, so we can learn to be great motivators.

Police Visiting PBS !!!

Today we have had an amazing afternoon because the police officers came to our school, this was probably the best police visitors we have ever had in the school because the police helicopter came and landed right onto our school field. It was a big surprise for me because it was my first time seeing a helicopter with my own. 

Sharing a message with our Community

We have been focusing on sharing a message with our Community. We have created this DLO to share a message with Room 2 about how to take care of their teeth. We used pictures and language to make our message easy for the junior pupils to understand. 

Personification

Today for writing we did personification we did it about the days of the week like monday was the worst day of the week because it was the sart of the week and friday was the best day because it was the last day of school and I was working with Harlem and it was fun doing it but haed at the same time.

Emergency Service

For Inquiry we have been learning about what to do and who to call in an emergency. I have created this DLO to explain what you should do on an emergency call. It is very important to know who to ask for and to remain calm. 

Badminton

Today for Kiwi Sports we played Badminton. For Badminton we were practising the forehand and the backhand grips. After practising our forehand and backhand grip we started to practice how to swing the racket. We then had to throw the shuttle to our partner who had  to try and hit it back to  us. It is important to keep your eye on the shuttle. After that we had a rally to see how many times we could hit the shuttle back and forwards to each other.

How Children Learn At School

Children have lots of different way of learning. They are really curious. Learning is really important for children because it helps the gain knowledge. One way children learn is by asking questions. They also give feedback and ask for feed forward.

When they ask for feed forward they get learn new things which could help them in different areas of learning. Children often watch role models and copy what they do.

When children are unsure of what to do they either listen to others carefully or watch others do. They can also search it up on the internet.

When children reflect about their learning they can see where they have gone wrong and what they have to improve on. They take risks to learn new things and get a new experience.

Children have lots of different ways to learn at school. They are really curious. Learning is a really important part of a children's time at school because it helps the gain knowledge and helps them build confidence in learning.

For this task we were working in partners to write an explanation. I worked with Aj. We then showed another pair our explanation and they gave us feedback and feed forward. Our feedback wast that we have great ideas and our writing is well layed out. Our feed forward was that we should try not to repeat things.
